Missed-call text-back for a septic company
The owner is on a lid, in a trench, or on a county road with no signal. The call rings out, the homeowner calls the next company, and the pump-out is gone along with the next three. For a company doing 80 pump-outs a month at a $450 ticket and a 27% miss rate, the calculator puts the loss well into four figures a month.
Text-back fixes most of it. When a call goes unanswered, a text goes out within ten seconds: "On a tank right now. What is the address and what is going on? I will text you back with a time and a price." Most callers reply, and once they have replied they stop dialing the next company. For install leads, the rule is a text inside five minutes and a call inside the hour, then a two-week follow-up sequence, because a drain field decision takes that long.
